Keegan {Taiwan}

Keegan is described as a talkative, happy little boy by his caregivers. He is pretty shy with new people, as our team discovered when we met him in November, but once we stepped back and let him play with other children he relaxed and we got to see the sweet boy his caregiver described.

He is imaginative and likes to play with little pretend action figures. He loves puzzles. He likes playing ball and gets along well with the other children in his group at the home where he lives.

Keegan will be 5 soon. His file indicates that he has some delays. He is speaking in complete sentences, though his pronunciation is not always clear. He dresses himself and packs his own backpack for kindergarten. He was great with both gross and fine motor tasks. He runs, jumps, and plays with a ball. He colors, imitates shapes, and likes things to be tidy. When a crayon was put in upside down he said, "That is wrong!" and corrected it.

Keegan didn't like getting his picture taken by us, which I think you can see. I didn't blame him. It's pretty scary to have strange looking people try to do something as intimate as take pictures of you!

This precious little boy needs a family! Could he be your son? Please contact mary.chapman@gladney.org for more information!

New Files!! {Randal!}

New files just hit the database! We always get super excited when this happens. It means that we have the privilege and honor to do our best to find families for 10 more children. The youngest child in this group just turned 1, the oldest is 10.

Each of them are precious, amazing, beautiful in their own right. Each of them need families. And for the next few months we will be telling you everything we can about them. You can help in the quest, this most amazing and sacred quest of ours. The quest to find the perfect family for each of these children. Look into their little eyes. Ask yourself if they are your child. Share their pictures and ask your friends to really see them. Really see them for the precious little individuals they are.

We have already introduced some of these children. Now we can advocate in earnest.

Today I'm introducing you to Randal. This little cutie is only 1 year old! His file states his special need is postoperative malrotation of intestine. He is doing so well since his operation that his file is designated special needs. This means that a family needs to have a dossier logged in or completed to be matched with him.

He is crawling and walking with assistance. He understands simple instructions and is described as a happy, curious little boy. His files states in several places that he loves to laugh and laughs easily. Someone scoop this baby up! Can you imagine his little laugh ringing through your home? Miranda {Taiwan}

Miranda is a 9 year old girl whom we met on our last trip to Taiwan in November {as a side note, emails have been flying back and forth as we plan our next trip to Taiwan!}. She is a quiet little girl who likes to dress up and look pretty. Her favorite toys are her Barbie dolls. She loves doing their hair and dressing them. She also likes to draw and she quickly drew us a very cute little picture of a girl.

She reads and writes well and enjoys getting lost in a story book. She doesn't enjoy math so much and when she was asked what she dislikes she said she doesn't like to play with wooden blocks.

Miranda has developmental delays. She works hard at school and is doing well. She has a lot of friends and is very close to her foster family.

Miranda needs a family. Could she be your daughter? Please contact us at mary.chapman@gladney.org for more information.

Ferris {Taiwan}

The last time we saw Ferris was in May of 2016, so I was excited when I learned we would be seeing him again in November. Sweet 9 year old Ferris participated in all tasks we asked of him, even if he was a little hesitant at first. And he did great – even solving multiplication problems!

He had great agility skills and impressed us with his dribbling and passing of the basketball. When asked, he told us that PE was his favorite part of school and that he loves playing ball, particularly dodgeball – so, makes sense that he was great at our tests!

When we asked Ferris to describe himself, he stated that he is “a good kid” – I love it! He also told me that he likes remote control cars and playing board games like Monopoly. When I asked what he wants to be when he grows up, he said a police officer. His caregivers told us that he is very clever. He is a bit reserved and serious, but it sounds like he is a typical active boy when he’s in a comfortable environment.

Ferris has no medical needs. Could Ferris be your son? Could you help him realize his dream of becoming a police officer? Please email mary.chapman@gladney.org to review Ferris’ full profile.
