Kyle is a 10 year old boy who is described in his file as mild and kind in nature.
He will sometimes hug his foster mother to
thank her for her care. He helps sweep the floor and wants to know when his foster father will be home. When his foster father comes home he gets his indoor slippers for him because he is so happy to see him.
He has mild delays, and is in 4th grade at school where he is a B student. He received speech therapy and his ability to express himself has improved with time. He also is diagnosed with G6PD deficiency.
Kyle thrives with a predictable schedule and sometimes struggles to understand schedule changes. He dresses himself and otherwise cares for himself.
Kyle has 2 brothers who are also available for adoption. The decision has been made that the boys can be placed together or separately. We will be post about the other 2 boys this and next week.
If you would like to learn more about Kyle please contact mary.chapman@gladney.org for more information.
Raina
Monday, August 13, 2018
Raina just turned 2 and she is is described as a quiet, gentle, happy baby girl who does not cry very often. It is easy to get a smile from this little sweetie.
Her file was prepared when she was 11 months old. At that time she was sitting independent and recognized her name. She was also beginning to babble. She enjoys playing with toys that light up and make noises. She has postoperative meningocele and tethered cord.
And her favorite things? If you have not already lost your heart to little little sweetheart you are about to! She loves to be cuddled! Wouldn’t it be a privilege to be the one to do all that cuddling?
Raina needs a family who can provide the medical care she will need and who will help her reach her fullest potential. Please contact us at superkids@gladney.org if that could be you!

Antony {Taiwan}
Thursday, August 9, 2018
Antony is a 7 year old boy whose caregivers describe as gentle and curious. He answered our questions and enjoyed talking with us when we met him in April. He was a little quiet, but did not seem shy.
Antony has DiGeorge syndrome and is a little delayed developmentally. He counts to 100 and says that math is his favorite subject. He is a talkative little guy, but sometimes his speech is a little hard to understand. When asked to do fine motor type of activities he often responds with, "I can't!" But with a little coaxing he often could do more than he thought.
He likes to play with dolls and, while he could not tell us his favorite color, he did name the colors of the crayons on the table.
Antony needs a family! Please contact mary.chapman@gladney.org for more information.
And, as always, be sure to join our private Taiwan Facebook group for photos and videos we cannot share publicly.

Stuart
Monday, August 6, 2018
We are pretty excited that we got Stuart's file again! You can see our previous post about him here. He is such a little cutie and it is hard for me to imagine that he is still waiting for his family!
Stuart is 20 months old now and we are seeking an update. When we last received information about him it appeared that he was doing really well developmentally, already standing independently at 11 months is something we rarely see in children's files.
This sweet little guy has cerebral hypoplasia according to his file. He has had a CT scan and we have the report from that scan. His right hand is a little bit stiff and harder for him to use, but by all reports we have received that is the only obvious issue he has.
This little guy needs to come home! Could he be your son? Please contact us at superkids@gladney.org for more information.

Family Friday
Friday, August 3, 2018
We are doing something a little different on the blog today, but we just can't wait to show you these adorable pictures! When we posted about Leeza we had so many people inquire about her and so many people have expressed interest in this darling little girl since then that we want to share some pictures with you.
The moment that a child becomes a part of a family is magical. It is often hard and scary and overwhelming in many ways, but one moment they are alone in the world, the next they are treasured members of a family. And there is magic there even if it is hidden under layers of grief and fear.
For Leeza that magical moment happened this week. This is it. This is why we all work together for these children. This is why we ask you to share posts. This is the moment we are working toward.
In this moment and all of the moments to follow, we want to wish Leeza and her family the very best! Thank you for allowing us to share in this bit of magic!

Atticus & Ari {Brothers from Taiwan}
Thursday, August 2, 2018
My favorite thing about meeting these sweet brothers in April was the way Atticus, who is 8, was so excited to see Ari, who is 3. His whole face lit up when Ari came into the room and he was absolutely thrilled when we brought Ari back into the room later to be sure we got pictures of the boys together.
We often characterize relationships between young brothers as being rough and tumble, but Atticus was so gentle and caring for Ari! They played together and even wrestled, but atticus was constantly watching out for Ari. It was precious to watch! Right now the boys are in different foster homes, but they want to be in a family together.
Atticus is 8 and is described as pleasant and enthusiastic. He is on medication for ADHD. His foster mom says he sometimes struggles to express himself. He is an active title guy who describes himself as talkative.
Ari is 3 and his file indicates that his speech is delayed. When we met him in April we were told that he is speaking in 3-5 word sentences and receiving speech therapy. He is a sociable little boy who loves to be with other children and plays well with them.
These brothers need a family! They will add so much love and laughter to a home! Could they be your sons? Please contact mary.chapman@gladney.org for more information!
And don't forget to join out private Facebook group where we can share photos and videos of the children from Taiwan that we cannot share publicly!
