Leeza, Another Sweet Baby Girl

Apparently we are all about the amazing baby girls today! I'd like to introduce you to Leeza.

Leeza is 2 years old. She is sweet and loves to be cuddled. When her caregivers call her name she not only responds, she also tries to climb right up into their arms to be snuggled.

We met Leeza and were told that she had a cleft li/palate and some fused fingers and toes. We were curious about her diagnosis so had an International Adoption Clinic review her file. They gave us a great review. She is doing so well and is even advanced for her age.  We would be happy to speak with you in more detail about what we learned.

She likes brightly colored toys that make sound. She seems like a vibrant, happy little sweetie! She crawls and is beginning to walk. She stacks blocks and then laughs when she knocks them over. She understands and follows simple directions and she speaks some words. She likes to imitate people and tries to make her caregiver laugh with her silly faces.

Sweet Baby Lisa

Update 6/29: I love this community we are part of! Yesterday morning we posted Lisa's post hoping that a family would see how amazing she is and step forward to adopt her. We have had so many inquiries that we worked late last night just to get everyone answered! We are very hopeful that she will be matched quickly. At this point we are creating a list of backup families for her but not sharing her file further. Thank you all!


Lisa is a 1 year old baby girl and part of me wants to just let her gorgeous little pictures speak for themselves, but I'm guessing you might want to know a little more about her than that.

So first off, she is breathtakingly gorgeous. I mean really.

She has had corrective surgery for a meningocele. Her surgery was done in Shanghai and she appears to be doing very well. She is crawling and can pull to a stand though she is not yet walking. She sits independently and claps her hands in time to music. Her file specifies that she is very smart. It also says that her favorite toy is a pink zebra. That just makes me smile. It looks like food makes her smile!

Lisa is on a special diet because she is lactose intolerant. She is growing better now that they changed her diet.

Danica {Taiwan}

Hiding behind her caregiver, a petite girl came forward. Her name is Danica. Her hair pulled back with a striped shirt and black pants, she waits patiently for her turn with the team. The team starts by asking questions about her such as what she likes and doesn’t like or her favorite food and color.  Danica was very reserved and quiet. When a hard question was asked and she did not know how to answer it she would simply look up and give a sweet smile.

A few fun facts about Danica; her favorite color is yellow. When asked why, she said because it “makes me happy.”  The thing she likes to do the most is play outside. She enjoys anything that makes her laugh. Danica loves to be silly with her friends, making up games at the nearby playground.  She enjoys drawing and painting.  She drew the most detailed picture of herself, making sure to give herself a very fashionable side ponytail.

Danica showed off her running, jumping, and ball skills. When she moved from task to task we could hear her quiet little voice say “thank you” followed by “bye-bye” with a dainty wave.

Hector

We posted about Hector here, but at the time we did not have photos of him (we did have a video which you can see in the other post). I knew it was definitely worth a whole new blog post when I saw these adorable little photos!

Just look at him!

Hector's diagnosis is cerebral palsy and binocular esotropia. There seem to be some questions about whether CP is a correct diagnosis. He is crawling and pulls to stand. He can walk with assistance. His file indicates that he is receiving and responding well to therapy.

Desi {Taiwan}

Desi was one of the happiest and most fun loving kids around. He was a charmer, ready to engage us all with his personality.

He came ready to impress, showing off his English skills. He counted from 1 to 10 in English and continued by telling us the colors and animals that he knew.

When asked to draw a picture of anything he wanted, he drew the best Pokémon figure.  Desi said his favorite subject is art and he loves to draw. He also likes to perform, play tag with his friends, and do anything to put a smile on someone’s face and make them laugh.  Deci was very animated with his hand gestures and used a wide range of different voices when showing us how he gets a smile and laugh out of someone.

Desi was ready to advocate from himself, telling us that he wants to be adopted “I want it so much, but my English is poor.”

Nadia

Nadia is a darling, happy little girl who shows her recognition for people by laughing and waving her hands. She is very happy when her caregiver arrives in the morning.

She is 2 years old and has Down Syndrome. She was independently and communicates through simple words and gestures. She enjoys playing with blocks, putting them in a bucket then dumping them out. She also loves playing with balloons and splashing in water.

Nadia is described as a quiet child, and I love this picture of her looking at books! Doesn't she just look too sweet? This little sweetie needs a family! Could she be your daughter?
