Ethan!

We are still looking for Ethan's family! You can read more about him here. Please help us out and share this post. We have an amazing community of people who read and share our post to help find families for our children. Thank you and let's stand together again for Ethan!

Iris Video!

This is Iris. You can read more about her here. Here is a little video that is easy to share. Let's see how many times her video gets viewed today!

Millie {Taiwan}

What stands out most about Millie is her bright smile. Her smile also revealed that something was missing. She was super excited to let everyone know that she had just lost one of her front teeth.  Proudly showing off the hole in her mouth where the tooth used to be.

Millie just turned 6 years old and is very excited to be starting first grade in the fall. She listened patiently to all directions from the Superkids team. She participated without hesitation at every task the team asked her to do and proceeded to do so with delight; her bright smile leading the way.

Millie told us that she loves playing on the playground and going swimming with her foster family. She still uses floats when swimming, but I bet it’s just a matter of time before she’ll be swimming floatie-free!

New CCCWA Guidelines

The CCCWA has issued updated guidelines for families adopting from China which you can read here.

Through speaking with officials in China we have verified that families with log in dates (LID) and/or preliminary approval (PA) will be able to complete their adoptions under the previous guidelines.

We are also happy to see that the maximum age difference of 50 years between parent and child now applies to all applicants whether married or single.

There will be more clarification in the days to come and we will be sure to keep our website up to date. We will also be answering any questions you have in a later blog post, so please ask your questions here or on our Facebook page.

XiuXiu {FSL Project}

XuiXui (XuiXui G-255 On Rainbowkids)  is a gorgeous 10 year old girl who is waiting for a family in China. Last year the CCCWA decided to help agencies get good updates on some children who had been waiting for a while on the shared list. XuiXui is one of the girls who was assigned to Gladney and Superkids volunteers were able to meet her in October. I'd say the photographer did a pretty good job, wouldn't you?

She has a diagnosis of hydrocephalus and possible cerebral palsy. Our team also noted that she is delayed compared to other children of the same age. She walks independently and can go up steps holding a hand rail. She can kick and catch a ball and drew a person for us. She speaks in 5-6 word sentences and can answer simple questions. She also follows directions. She counts and recognizes shapes and colors.

This lovely little girl has a $4,000 grant through Gladney. She needs a family to see how amazing she really is! Please email us at superkids@gladney.org for more information.

Les

07/15/2017 update: We have had a wonderful response to our advocacy efforts for Les! His file is being considered and we are hopeful he will be matched soon. We are no longer sharing his file. Thank you!

This little guy right here. This is Les. He is 2 years old and I don't need to tell you how cute he is, because pictures...

Anyway, Les has a couple of minor, very manageable needs that we will be happy to discuss with interested families.

He is a happy, energetic little boy who would rather play outdoors than inside. He like to drive little cars around and stack blocks. When we met him in October he wasn't even 2 yet and he was walking, running, and saying a few words. He found hidden objects, fed himself Gerber puffs, and sat nicely on his caregiver's lap while we talked with her.

Les is a little sweetheart and his family is going to be so fortunate to have him as their son! We are are looking for a family who already has some paperwork done for this little guy. Could he be your son? Please contact us at superkids@gladney.org for more information.

Meredith

Meredith is a little girl with an old soul. She was very mature for her young age of 9; presenting herself with great confidence and dignity.

One could tell just from looking at her with her cute pink glasses and matching yellow polka dot and pink shirt that her outfit was handpicked for this occasion. She spoke softly yet with great assurance, even showcasing a few English words she knew. She was sensible, perceptive, and intuitive. Yet she was very humble when given a compliment.

When given the task of drawing anything she wanted to draw, she was very meticulous in drawing just the right picture and took her time to think about what to draw. She finally settled for a picture of herself, which included her cute glasses.  Once the picture was done she even took the pencil and finished it off by signing her name.
