Hadley is a precious 6 year old girl whom we last met in October 2016. We all fell in love with her sunny personality. She left us all smiling!
Here is a little video slide show of her.
This sweet girl will go so far and do so much with the support and care of a loving family! We are happy to speak with you about her! Please contact us at superkids@gladney.org for more information.
Dale {Taiwan}
Tuesday, April 10, 2018
When I think of all of the kiddos I’ve met during our Superkids trips, Dale is always one of the first to come to mind. He is just such a sweet, fun kid! He’s always smiling, happy to see us and participate in any of the crazy things we ask of him. He’s up for playing a game of ball, showing off his drawing skills, and answering our many questions.
Dale will be turning 9 years old in a couple of months. He has been living in the same foster family for about 6 years, and you can tell he has a good relationship with his foster mother. When we were talking during our visit in November, if he got stuck on how to answer one of my questions, he would look to his foster mom for assistance. His foster mother told us that he is kind, helpful, and outgoing.
Dale loves drawing and painting. He also loves being active and playing outside. He’s been participating in dance classes since last September. We have the best video of him dancing! He told me that he loves playing dodgeball in PE because he likes dodging – he’s got some fast moving feet!
Meet Luke!
Monday, April 9, 2018
We have spent time with Luke on several occasions. The first time was almost 5 years ago. Each time we have seen him we have written words like "sweet, gentle, thoughtful, and cooperative" in our notes about him.
He is one of those children that stand out. He is caring about the other children, but he is funny and energetic in his own right. He is now almost 12 years old. His file was prepared when he was 7, and still he waits.
Luke has deformed ears and hearing loss. His file also indicates that he has a cleft palate, but our doctors did not see it. It must be a very small cleft, if he has one at all. He is able to hear and speak, but struggles in loud environments. He is a little shy and speaks quietly. Sometimes he preferred writing his answers to our questions rather than trying to compete with the noise in the room.
He did great on the non-verbal testing we did with him, like blew right through it with no problem at all. He entered right in to playing with some of our volunteers on the playground. He is a little shy at first, but warms up quickly.
Luke only has a couple of years before he ages out. We need to find his family now, before it is an emergency. This sweet boy is so deserving!
Please contact us at superkids@gladney.org for more information. While there is not a specific grant attached to the adoption of Luke, we do have a support fund which we can use to assist families, do not hesitate to ask us about it!

Family Friday!!
Friday, April 6, 2018
We have matches, matches, matches to announce!!
Both of the little girls from China are matches made from the shared list, which is exciting because it is always a little uncertain when there are changes in the way matching is done. But one thing that hasn't changed is that there are still children needing families and the Gladney staff's dedication to finding appropriate families for each child! Congratulations to both of these excited families!
And we are thrilled to announce 3 matches in the Taiwan program! Our Taiwan program is expanding so quickly and we are proud and grateful to be a part of that growth! Both Darwin and Daisy were matched thanks to the advocacy efforts of Superkids volunteers who met them.
A huge congratulations from us to each of these children and their families! What an exciting week! Please help us congratulate all of these families by liking and sharing this post!
Kaydence
Thursday, April 5, 2018
Oh my goodness! Do we ever have a cute little one to introduce today! Kaydence is only 2 years old and the most current information we have is from when she was only 1. We are seeking an update and will share new information as we get it.
When her file was prepared she was already standing and beginning to walk. She recognized her name and turned when it was called. She waved bye-bye and was beginning to speak simple words. That is amazing for a 1 year old!!
She is described as a happy baby and is attached to her foster family. Sweet Kaydence has an MRI in her file that indicates that she has agenesis of the corpus callosum. She is developing well and there is a video of her from another agency that shows her standing, walking, and giggling the cutest little giggle! I will place a link to it on our Facebook page. You can visit it here.
Someone take the risk and go snatch this baby up! Please contact us at superkids@gladney.org for more information. While there is not a specific grant attached to the adoption of Kaydence, we do have a support fund which we can use to assist families, do not hesitate to ask us about it!

We Are Going To Taiwan! {And we need your help!}
Tuesday, April 3, 2018
We are so excited to announce our #SKTaiwanApril2018 trip! We leave on April 21st and plan to be in Taiwan for a week. We will be introducing our team as it gets closer to departure time, but suffice it to say we are all super excited to be going to Taiwan!
Our Taiwan program has been growing and expanding and one of our favorite things about this trip is that we will be seeing, and taking care packages to, more matched children than we have ever seen before on a Taiwan trip! It doesn't get better than that!
As usual we need some items to take with us for the children. They really count on the Lego sets we take each time. Some of the older children start looking for them as soon as they come into the room! We want to take some simple little Duplo sets for the younger children this time too.
We are also taking some projects for the older children to do. We are hoping to help them make little flip photo books using our photo printer. Another project we want to try is calming glitter bottles(because we are gluttons for punishment and want to travel internationally with glitter). These are super simple to make and provide a calming sensory experience for children.
Anyway, on to the how you can help part:
You can see our Amazon Wish List HERE.
We are collecting pretty hair bows, bands, etc. If you want to send some in addition to the ones listed on Amazon please contact Erin at erinmrtn@yahoo.com.
It would also be fun to take scarves and small hats and other small "dress up" items. Please contact Erin if you have anything along those lines you want to donate.
Thank you all in advance! We always know we can count on you to help us make these trips successful and fun!

Meet Kayla!
Monday, April 2, 2018
Kayla just turned 5 and she is described as a quiet little girl who is very attached to her caregivers. She has cerebral palsy and is unable to walk without assistance, but she can use her hands well. She feeds herself and can hold a crayon to color.
She enjoys listening to stories and looking at books, especially books with pictures of children in them. She likes to watch cartoons and play with adult's phones. Sounds like a 5 year old, doesn't it?
She understands what is said to her and is able to express her needs. She doesn't really like to talk to strangers, but she warms up after a short time. She shares her toys with the other children and sometimes shares snacks with younger children.
Kayla is a sweetheart! And she is waiting for her family to see her! For more information please contact us at superkids@gladney.org.
