Nyle

Y'all ready for some crazy cute cuteness this morning?

Sure you are ready for this, because...

Because...

Because... Nyle!

Nyle is 2 years old. He is described as a smart, happy, active little boy. He holds out his arms to hug his friends when he sees them and likes to help clean up the toys at clean up time. He enjoys his little preschool classes and participates well.

Nyle has postoperative hypertrophic pyloric stenosis. He has been healthy and doing great since his surgery to correct it.

He appears to be on target developmentally. He walks, runs, and jumps. He communicates his needs well even putting words together into short sentences. He likes to play with blocks and can stack them to form a tower. And, as you can see, he strings beads.

We need a family for this little guy. His file is designated LID only meaning that we need a family who has a log in date or whose dossier is very close to being completed. Please contact us at superkids@gladney.org for more information. Let's find this adorable little boy's family!

Darwin

Sweet, smart, and sensitive are words used to describe Darwin. He will be turning 9 years old in June and he has very minor needs.  Darwin loves to dance and sing. He made known that his all-time favorite song is Party Animal from the band May Day.

Darwin was asked his favorite color and he replied it was yellow. He enjoys his Chinese classes in school, but his favorite subject is PE. He also likes reading about history in Mandarin. He bravely told us that his least favorite subject is math.

Legos are Darwin’s favorite toy. The volunteers gave him a set of Legos but he wasn’t keen on that set so he politely asked in English if he could trade them for a different set.  He said “Thank you” when given the new Lego set and happily opened the set and quickly put it together. Once the set was together you could hear honk honk, vroom, and screech sounds coming from his direction. He was in his own little world cheerfully playing with his new Legos.

Darwin really wants a forever family. He is well prepared for being adopted and understands the big adjustment it will be – but he’s up for the challenge! Could this cheerful guy be your son? Contact Mary Chapman at mary.chapman@gladney.org for more information.

Meet Nova!

This precious, adorable little girl is turning 3 next week. So an early happy birthday is in order, I think. Wouldn't it be awesome for her to get a family for her 3rd birthday?

Nova is described as lovely and sweet. She has Down syndrome and CHD (ASD). She is growing and developing well. She walks and jumps, she crawls and goes up steps with assistance.

Nova likes listening to music and doing motions to songs along with her nannies and the other children. She likes to be held and cuddled. She says a few words and follows simple instructions. She seems to be doing great, and she is just so cute!

Nova has a $4,000 grant through Gladney.

Please contact us at superkids@gladney.org for more information about making this darling little girl your daughter.

Hector

Happy Monday, Everyone! My goodness, do I have a cutie to introduce this morning!

This is Hector. He is 2 years old and he is described as a true "foodie". This made me laugh, I've never seen that description written in a file before. He loves to eat and if the caregivers take his food before he is finished he says, "Ah, ah" to indicate that he is still eating.

Hector's diagnosis is cerebral palsy and binocular esotropia. There seem to be some questions about whether CP is a correct diagnosis. He is crawling and pulls to stand. He can walk with assistance. His file indicates that he is receiving and responding well to therapy.

He feeds himself finger foods and holds and bangs blocks together. He understands and follows simple instructions and imitates words.

Hector sounds like he is really doing well! Could he be your son? Please contact us at superkids@gladney.org for more information.

Lie Lie

Congratulations from all of us! We couldn't be more happy for these precious babies and their wonderful families!

Be sure you like, comment, and share this post to congratulate the families!

Meet Lee

Lee is a quiet, observant little 6 year old boy. He loves drawing, singing, and dancing.

My favorite memory of Lee is from when we saw him in April of 2016. We asked him to draw a circle, which he did, but then he kept going and turned that circle into a flower. How sweet is that?

Lee is in kindergarten and is doing well. He can count to 50 with a little prompting from his teacher and can write the numbers 1-10 by himself. His speech is a little delayed, but he is speaking in simple sentences and understands what is said to him. He is independent in self care.

Lee is a little shy and is more comfortable speaking with other children rather than with adults. He likes to do exercises in the mornings.

Lee's diagnosis according to his file is "mental retardation". This sweet boy may be delayed, but like so many other kids we meet, this diagnosis would be so different in the US. He has so, so much potential!

Could he be your son? Please contact us at superkids@gladney.org for more information.
